Artist, sculptor, photographer, traveller and Silver Surfer
Based in Cornwall, Andrew started creating his artworks when he started surfing. His inspiration was the elusive Green Cathedral – the Surfer’s Nirvana, the barrel or tube ride.
In addition to watercolours, oils and acrylics, Andrew’s surf-inspired artworks use materials employed in the manufacture of surfboards.
Having figured out his creative tools, Andrew’s works address pollution in the ocean, plastic and tin beach debris and discarded fishing nets. His palette is now resin, acrylic discs, fluorescent perspex, porcelain, and wood. Inspired by Japanese Zen, Andrew also works with Japanese handmade paper in the pursuit of EnsÅ.
In addition to his rich background in multi media arts, photography, and surfing, Andrew has also become known as The Silver Surfer following the publication of ten years’ worth of surf diaries, which was subsequently made into a film.
